CONSTRUCTION giant Lendlease is footing the bill to replace flammable cladding on Melbourne’s Royal Women’s Hospital, according to the Victorian Government. Planning Minister Richard Wynne confirmed on Friday combustible material will be stripped from seven hospital buildings within 18 months. The unprecedented safety measure will not cost Victorian taxpayers after the material has been deemed non-compliant. It is understood Lendlease — which built the $250 million hospital — has agreed to replace the questionable building product but the company declined to comment.
