Telstra is progressively switching off copper wire and HFC cable networks for phone and broadband services in areas where the NBN Co has been switched on for 18 months or more. Strata buildings in the NBN fibre footprint in those areas MUST switch over to NBN based services before the switch off date to continue receiving services for lifts, fire panels and other facilities.
Act now. You may find that you need to use a combination of telecommunications pathways to meet the reliability target set in the Australian Standard. (AS) 1670.3 (fire detection, warning, control and intercom systems - system design, installation and commissioning - Fire alarm monitoring).
What Do You Do When the NBN Comes to Town?
Register your building TODAY with the NBN here or call 1800 687 626 if you have a lift/s or a fire panel, so they can assist you to move before the existing networks are switched off. If you don't, your most important safety alarms could be disabled in a “Power out” situation. That includes Medical Alarms. Register medical alarms here.
