Fair Trading urges NSW owners corporations to support the Government’s Think Child Safe campaign which focuses attention on the risks associated with children playing close to open windows or unattended on balconies.
Owners Corporations can play an important part in this campaign by helping to bring awareness of this issue to members, residents and tenants of NSW strata schemes.
Each year around 8,000 children are taken to hospital as a result of a fall, including approximately 50 who have fallen from a window or balcony. For a small number of children, this will be fatal.
